Why not Plane Struck by Lightning?

Do you know of a 100 plane crash in the world each year, only one due to a lightning strike. Here's an explanation of sophistication antipetir system on the aircraft. Indeed, the possibility of a lightning strike aircraft is always there. However, the system is equipped plane Static Discharge (SD) in the body. This makes the possibility of a very small plane struck, especially modern planes.

Lightning occurs because of the difference in electrical charge in the air, due to friction between clouds or objects with air then the resulting static electric charge on the thing. As with aircraft, while moving in the air will cause static electricity in the fuselage.

However, SD immediately throw power into the air making it less likely struck. If SD does not work, the plane could have been struck by lightning and could result from the disruption of communication and navigation equipment to the aircraft caught fire in the air (this is very rare occurrence).

SD plane itself is very rarely broken, other than that the treatment is very simple because of its shape only in the form of wire or plastic contains metal plates that are placed at the end of the wings or tail of the plane with the number of 12-16 pieces.

When an electric load accumulated in SD too much, then the load will be missed by itself? said Prof. Yohanes Surya Ph.D. As quoted from their site, every day Earth dihantam 40 thousand lightning.

However, because the prevalence of the Earth, then the possibility of lightning on a very small plane. But he mentioned that each year on average there is a plane struck by lightning.
